Simple ingredients. Big flavor. Zero leftovers.

Yield and Timing

Serves 4–6 people
Prep time: 10 minutes
Bake time: 8–12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread, sliced
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each slice of bread.

Place the slices on the baking sheet and bake for 5–6 minutes until the butter melts and the bread begins to crisp.

Remove from oven and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over each slice.

Return to the oven and bake for another 3–5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

For extra browning, broil for 1–2 minutes, watching carefully.
