Simple & Affordable Ciabatta Bread

Ciabatta is a classic Italian bread known for its crispy crust and airy, hole-filled interior. This version is budget-friendly and beginner-friendly, with no complicated kneading required.

🛒 Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 400 ml warm water
  • 1 packet dry yeast (about 7 g)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

🍳 Instructions

1. Activate the yeast

In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast.
Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

2. Make the dough

Add flour and salt.
Mix with a spoon until combined → the dough will be sticky (this is key!).

3. First rise

Cover and let it rise for 1.5 to 2 hours in a warm place.

4. Shape the dough

  • Generously flour your surface
  • Gently pour out the dough (don’t deflate it)
  • Shape loosely into a rectangle

5. Second rise

Let it rest for another 30 minutes.

6. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (428°F)
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes
  • Optional: place a small bowl of water in the oven for a crispier crust

🔥 Tips for perfect ciabatta
